Marketing Spotlight Series 3: Creative Careers

Limestone College Business

For those who may not be particularly excited about pursuing quant-based careers, the creative side of marketing offers an exciting alternative. A great number of creative marketing positions exist within agencies that provide marketing, advertising, communications and PR services to other companies.

It is under the roof of agencies that your favorite advertising campaigns are born, from their TV commercials, to radio spots, to Web site banners and much more. In the agency world, a “creative” creates ideas and works with a production team to make those ideas come to life. The concepts, themes, and stories that result from this collaboration are often how we remember our favorite brands.

From copywriters to PR specialists and art directors, agencies can offer a range of career directions to students with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Limestone College offers a number of courses that help students develop the skills needed in creative agencies. Some of the offered courses include: BA 329 Branding, BA 335 Integrated Marketing Communications, BA 343 Principles of Advertising, BA 342 Internet Marketing and BA 345 Consumer Behavior.

In completion of our Marketing Spotlight Series, we’ve put together a short list of creative marketing positions that yield promising growth according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupation Outlook Handbook.
